Dr. Anne-Marie Rouse is originally from Southern California. She travelled to Reno a lot growing up while visiting her brother who was attending UNR. Both she and her family fell in love with Reno and its surroundings and moved here in 2015.
Dr. Rouse’s first desire to help others developed as she endured several hip surgeries, the subsequent recoveries, and the need to have to relearn how to walk three times. She wanted to help people who were also struggling through recovery as well as having issues with their body not doing what they wanted to do. After finishing her undergrad degree, she became a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer - this is what started her journey and where her passion became helping to empower, educate, and improve the quality of her patient’s life.
She worked as a trainer for 24-Hour Fitness in SoCal and was promoted to the Fitness Manager position in Reno. After her move to Reno, she promptly gained an extra certification as a NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). This helped her gain even more insight into the body, learned how to maximize a workout, increase endurance, and how the body deals with recovery. Through this continued training, her passion for finding the root cause of her client’s injuries or muscular imbalances grew. She was driven to able to give her clients more help than she had received during her recoveries - she wanted to continue to help improve the quality of life for those around her at a higher level. It was shortly after this; Dr. Rouse decided to attend Chiropractic school to further her education.
While attending Life Chiropractic College West (LCCW) in Hayward, Ca; she worked at a local gym where she was able to tie together and apply all her past experiences from training with the new in-depth knowledge of functional movements, anatomy, and kinesiology she was learning from school into practice. This elevated her training which allowed her to work with clients with special needs. Those having MS, Parkinson’s or other neurological disorders that struggled to find a trainer that could help with their needs.
Her chiropractic approach is analyzing the whole body from head to toe. Through her schooling as well as various other seminars during school, she was able to fill her tool box with a variety of different adjusting techniques. Her goal was to be able to adjust pediatric patients, athletes, seniors and everyone else in between, making her patients as comfortable as possible with their unique individualized care.
She is still currently furthering her skills by attending post-graduate education for Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) Specialist.
